PANTONIA BY POPPY

Perth’s queen of colour and digital prints, the amazing Poppy Lissiman, is set to open her very own stand-alone store in Claremont’s Times Square come October. Under the Poppy Lissiman Addiction moniker, the store will offer up the local designer’s own collections, plus a select range of garments and goodies from other creative minds.

“Customers coming into the Poppy Lissiman Addition store can expect to shop from the Poppy Lissiman label, with the store opening in time for the launch of the Pantonia collection,” Lissiman reveals. “There will be lots of new colours and prints made especially for the range in store as well as exclusive hand-rolled scarves and handmade jewellery.”

Before the boutique opens for business, fans of Lissiman’s label can catch her wares taking centre stage at the Perth Fashion Festival’s Designer Capsule #2 show on Friday, September 23.

“I’m really excited about the show for PFF because it’s going to be very different to what I did for Rosemount Australia Fashion Week. With the Poppy Lissiman Addition boutique opening soon I will be able to inject quite a few pieces into the parade that won’t have been featured in the look book. There will also be some really great jewellery going into the show as well.”

Audiences can expect bold and breathtaking colours combined with sexy ’70s silhouettes when Lissiman’s Pantonia collection hits Fashion Paramount.

“The original inspiration for the collection was actually some photos by Helmut Newton from the ’70s of extremely done up models lounging around pools. The ideas just flowed from there, it was a combination of ideas ranging from Florida, the 1970s and pool side glamour dressing. I also love colour so injecting really bright hues into this collection was my way of giving it a modern edge. The title Pantonia came a little later, just in reference to the use of colour in relation to the Pantone colours.

“I try and design pieces that I think will still be wearable a couple of seasons from now, not too trend driven. High quality materials and good craftsmanship is another must, the clothes are all manufactured in Australia. I love working with prints and have found these to be my strongest point in my collections so I always work in at least four prints a season.”

Fans of Poppy Lissiman’s beautiful creations can keep abreast of all the label’s projects online at poppylissiman.com. Tickets to the Designer Capsule #2 show can be purchased via perthfashionfestival.com.au.
